Richard J. "Rich" Hook, 37, of Quincy, WI, passed away suddenly, Friday, June 30, 2023. He was born October 5, 1985 in Rockford, IL, the son of Van Zandt and Michelle (Primeaux) Hook. Rich graduated from Hononegah High School in 2004. He married Laura Grass on August 24, 2013 in Strongs Prairie, WI. Rich was employed at Gray Electric in Mauston, WI. He had a passion for motocross and raced in his youth. Rich loved going golfing, fishing and boating. He enjoyed being outdoors as much as he could be. Rich was a jokester who loved making people laugh and having a good time with family and friends.
Rich is loved and missed by his wife, Laura; furry child, Kota; mother, Michelle Hook; sister, Vanessa Hook; nephew, Ian Pusz; mother and father-in-law, Linda and David Grass; sister-in-law, Sarah (Eric) Sallinger; niece and nephew, Emma and John; sister-in-law, Erin (Clint) Evans; nieces and nephew, Grace, Claire and Wyatt; brother-in-law, Andrew (Brooke) Grass; niece, Isla; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Van Hook and grandparents.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a memorial service to begin at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
