Michael L. Oar

Wednesday December 26, 2012. Michael was born on June 14, 1946 in Rockford,

the son of LaVern and Virginia Wright Hoar. Michael was a former member of the Navy Club

and was in the Marine Corp Reserves. Michael is survived by his companion Sandy Oar;

children Brent Oar, Matthew Oar(Dianna) and Shawn Gilbertson (Dawn);

brother Brad Hoar (Rosemary) and sister Christie Cassioppi (George, Jr.);

mother Virginia; grandchildren: Brianna Sarver (Ryan), Tyler Gilbertson,

Savannah Oar and Keegan Gilbertson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,

nieces and nephews also survive. Michael was preceded in death by his father LaVern.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dawn Leaich, Northern Illinois Hospice,

Swedish American Hospital and Madison University Hospital.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday December 31, 2012

at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road Machesney Park.

Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
