Mary Ann Sullivan, 70, of Rockford, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, February 12, 2019 surrounded by her best friend, Michael at Wesley Willows. Mary Ann was born July 27, 1948 in Rockford, the daughter of Joseph and Vernice (Barks) Gentry. She married J. Michael Sullivan on February 2, 1980. Mary Ann was a book keeper at the Salvation Army in Rockford for 25 years. Mary Ann was a master quilter and had a passion for quilting. She and Mike enjoyed traveling for quilting shows, going on cruises, and making trips to Las Vegas and to Disney World and more. Mary Ann was an inventive cook, always willing to try new recipes. She was an avid movie goer, and loved the Game of Thrones series, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. Mary Ann was a loving sister and aunt. She will truly be missed.
Mary Ann is loved and missed by her husband and best friend, Mike; father, Joseph Gentry; step-daughter, Kathleen Anne Sullivan; sister, Virginia Gentry; brother, Gary (Kathy) Gentry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vernice; brother, Charles Gentry and sister, Marjorie Gentry.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with Colonel Thomas Lewis of the Salvation Army officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
