Mary J. Hauck

Mary J. Hauck, 84 formerly of South Beloit, passed away June 10, 2014 in Dixon. Born May 5, 1930 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Kuzinski) Schaefer. She married Norman W. Hauck in Chicago on May 14, 1959.

In 1999 she and Norman relocated from Chicago to South Beloit where they resided until Norman passed away in 2006. Mary then moved to Shannon to be near family.

She enjoyed gardening, camping, find a word puzzles, reading, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, June (Dennis) Cygan, Dennis (Kathy), Richard (Dawn), David (Kimberly), and James Hauck; grandsons, Kevin and Todd Kostrzewski, Keith Cygan, Trevor, and Dylan Hauck; son-in-law, Ken Kostrzewski; sisters, Shirley O’Martin and Lavergne Schaefer; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Predeceased by parents, Charles and Mary Schaefer; husband, Norman; daughter, Mary Ann Kostrzewski; brother, Henry; sisters, Margaret, Catherine, and Delores.

Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Visitation 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the funeral home. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be submitted at sunsetfhmemgardens.com
