Lori J. McLaughlin

Lori J. McLaughlin, 53, of Rockford passed away Friday March 2, 2018. Lori was born on December 12, 1964 in Rockford, the daughter of Thomas and Jeanne (Atkinson) McLaughlin. Lori was a member of the American Lombardi Club and like collecting tea pots. Lori loved to travel and especially going on cruises. She was incredibly generous, she loved having family around and going to watch her brother Dan play. Lori always liked helping people, making sure everyone was having fun, no matter the cost involved, she always made sure it was taken care of.

Lori is survived by her significant other John Zimmerman; brothers Dan (Brenda) McLaughlin, Bill (Nina) McLaughlin and Rich (Janna) McLaughlin; she was aunt to Kristi McLaughlin, Tommy McLaughlin, Andrew McLaughlin, Ryan McLaughlin, Bradley McLaughlin, Kelly Smith and Ian McLaughlin; great-aunt to Grant Redington, Kaiden McLaughlin and Knox Thompson; uncle and aunt Bob (Shirley) McLaughlin; several cousins.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Jeanne, brother Steve and favorite companion “Mitzi”.

Visitation to celebrate Lori’s life will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with a service to follow. Burial will be private at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
