Loretta "Lory" Ann Winterhalter

Loretta A. “Lory” Winterhalter, 83, of Roscoe, IL, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2023 at Wesley Willows. She was born September 8, 1939 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Francis and Celestine (Flemming) Lazzaro. She married Dr. Joseph Winterhalter on February 1, 1974. She worked as a business administrator in several offices during her career. Lory volunteered for many years in the Ladies’ Auxiliary at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Lory loved to travel with Joe all across the world. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Lory is survived by her children, David (Jan) Winterhalter, Sharon (Ralph) Mahoney, Dirk Wickens, Paul (Susan) Winterhalter, John Winterhalter, Betsy (Tony) Berkman; grandchildren, Matt (Melissa) Winterhalter, Lucas (Jess) Winterhalter, Jennifer (Kris Fador) Beightley, Rachel (Adam) Moore, Holly (Mike) Bolhm, Nicholas Winterhalter, Rylee Berkman, Tara Wydra, Chelsea (TJ) Fisker, Carl Wydra, AJ (Nikki) Muto, Shane (Veronica) Muto; great-grandchildren, Ryan Winterhalter, Tyler Winterhalter, Addison Moore, Oliver Muto, Henry Muto, Hazel Muto and Vinnie Holden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, sons Michael and Jeffrey and her brothers and sister.
