Linda L. Carmack, 78, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving husband. She was born September 2, 1946 in Belvidere, IL, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Smith) Wylde. Linda graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1964. She met the love of her life, Allen G. Carmack at Parsons Casket Hardware Company. They went on to marry on June 3, 1967 in Rockford. Linda was a woman of faith, who taught her family the love of Christ. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Machesney Park. Linda was a realtor for many years. She dedicated her life to her family and raising her twelve children. She enjoyed taking her children to Belvidere Park, making home cooked meals from scratch and baking homemade cakes for family. Linda will be remembered as an loving wife, amazing mother and adoring grandmother.
Linda is loved and missed by her husband, Allen; children, Rebecca (Pete), Allen Jr., Paul (Cathy), Mary, Matthew (Katie), Steven (Lori), Sarah (Carlos), Elizabeth (Darnell), Charles (Irina), John (Jennifer), Rachael (Chad), Andrew (Patricia); thirty grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Myrtle and Irene, and niece Gloria.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to OSF Hospice, especially nurse Lydia, for their loving and compassionate care of Linda.
A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran School in Machesney Park, IL.
