Laverne M Bremer

LaVerne “Bud” Martin Bremer, 90, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 in Serenity Hospice House in Oregon, IL after a short illness. Born February 3, 1925 in Belvidere, IL. Son of Fred and Eva (Schnor) Bremer. Married Violet Tucker Pomering on April 11, 1981. She predeceased him on February 6, 2014. Veteran of WWII having served in the Navy. Employed by Rockford Products for 45 years. Member of Christ United Methodist Church since the 1950’s. President of the Men’s Club at Brook Road. Joined his shipmates of The U.S.S. Honolulu for reunions for the last 15 years.

Survivors include daughter, Deborah (David) Borgstrom; step-sons, Kenneth (Ada) and Richard (Terri) Pomering; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 16, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL. Pastor David J. Love of First Baptist Church of Belvidere will be presiding over the service. Visitation at 10 a.m. until time of service.
