Kevin Wayne Barker, 24, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 after a tragic car accident. Born March 4, 1987 the son of Darrel and Gloria (Salisbury) Barker. He served in the U.S. Army. Kevin was an extremist; he loved living on the edge. He had a passion for collecting knifes, guns, coins. He was an avid Chicago Bears Fan. Kevin was a big kid at heart, he loved playing games with Nurf guns, spending weekend camp outs at his sister’s home. Survivors include his parents, siblings Donnie Page, Lee Page and Casey Barker (Richard), half sister Laura Michelle (Raphael) Barker, half brother Darrel (Polly) Barker Jr; nieces and nephews, Richie Lee, Erik, Marcus and Nevaeh (otherwise known as Izzy), Uncle Marty, maternal grandparents, Delores (Tom) Grove, Orville (Pat) Shock, paternal grandmother Dessie, his dog Harley and lots of best friends. He was preceded in death by his niece Victoria Love. Kevin will be dearly missed by all whom knew him; he was a best friend to all and was one of the most honest people anyone could have met. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
