Julie E. Burns, 78, of Machesney Park, Il. died Tuesday, May 9 2017 in the comfort of her home. In 1957 She married Kent Burns who preceded her in death. In a life well celebrated Julie owned and operated Rock River Research, where she enlisted in the friendships of many of her clients for over 42 years. A cup of coffee, a cigarette and a winning lottery ticket, ignited her big smile, but her flowers and family warmed her heart. Julie enjoyed watching any type of sport and Days of Our Lives. She enjoyed the memories made together with Kent, restoring and showcasing their 52 Ford Crown Victoria. Julie was born August 10, 1938 in Kingston, Iowa to Glen and Mary Holst.
Survivors: daughter, Roxeanne (Roger) Harshbarger; grandchildren, Tonya (Dave) Heckman, Tadd (Amber) Heckman, Anthony (Olivia) Pehl, Mike (Allyson) Harshbarger; 2 great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Kentley Heckman; son-in-law, John Pehl; siblings, Fred (Diane) Holst, Kathy (Bob) Howard. Predeceased by parents; loving husband; children, Renee Heckman, Rick Burns; grandson, Justin Harshbarger.
Services: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL. Visitation: 9 ~ !0. Burial, Twelve Mile Cemetery Pecatonica, IL. Following the burial , a luncheon will be served at Booties in Pecatonica, Il.
