Rockford, IL John Daniel Campbell, 92, of Rockford went to be with the Lord, Friday May 29, 2020. John was born April 18, 1928 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the son of Click and Ora (James) Campbell. He graduated from Pocahontas High School, class of 1946. He enlisted in the Air Force, serving from 1946 to 1948 in Japan. John married Daphene Oldham on May 29, 1949. They were married for seventy one years. After their wedding they moved north and settled in Rockford.
John worked for many years at W.F. & John Barnes and later retired from Sundstrand. John enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, working in his yard and around the house. He was a longtime member of Forest City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Daphene, his son Doug (Ruth) Campbell, grandchildren Holly (Matthew) Seng and Jill (Billy) Iaccino, great grandchildren Ronan and Knox Iaccino.
Predeceased by his parents, sisters Vivian (Tommy) Vanwinkle and Lelah (Herb) Mahaney.
Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, IL. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
