Janice C. Anderson

After a courageous 3-year battle with ovarian cancer, JANICE ANDERSON, 75, of Harvard, Illinois, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on September 10, 2011 at OSF. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who will live forever in our hearts. Born July 04, 1936, in DeKalb, Illinois, she was predeceased by her parents Walter and Lois Skaar. She married her soul mate, Dale Anderson on June 23, 1956 at St Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Janice was extremely devoted to her family, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, traveling, and her children’s/ grandchildren’s sporting events. She worked at Follett Software Company, in Crystal Lake for over 25 years. Survivors include her loving husband Dale Sr., her four sons: Dale Jr., Thomas (Vicki), Timothy (Carla), and Mark (Jennifer); Twelve grandchildren; Jennifer (Kris) Bradford, Daniel (Angela), Christa, Casey, Tatum, Karch, Jaxon, Carter, Weston, Ava, Becklin, and Cooper; Two great-grandchildren; Makenna (Jennifer and Kris), Mila (Casey and fiancé Kristoffer) and Sharla Anderson. Janice was one of fifteen brothers and sisters. We would like to especially thank Dr. Hoskins, and the extraordinary, caring staffs from Center for Cancer Care, and the 4 west Oncology Unit at OSF for their devoted care given to Janice. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL.
