Helen Z. Henderson

Helen Z. Henderson, 85, passed away October 5, 2022. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy. Helen was born on February 15, 1937 in Spooner WI, to Mildred and Howard McKeever. Helen married the love of her life Leroy Henderson on February 5, 1955. Together they shared 67 years in marriage and 3 children. They often spent time at their cabin on Shell Lake in Wisconsin. Helen enjoyed spending time outside, and quality time with those she loved. She hosted holidays, and loved making meals and providing her friends and family with the hospitality to have a great time. Helen had photo albums full of family memories, and found great joy reminiscing on old times. She was also a lucky gambler, and she enjoyed trying her luck at the casino or lottery tickets. She will be missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband; Leroy Henderson, children; Scot Henderson and Alan (Jodi) Henderson, granddaughter; Audra (Ben) Wellen, great grandchildren; Carter, Cooper, and Cole. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who she loved dearly.

She is welcomed into heaven by her daughter; Kathy Carlson, and siblings; Bob McKeever, and Cleo Galligan.

A memorial gathering for Helen is scheduled for Friday, October 14, between the hours of 4pm and 6pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
