Helen Francis Weaver, 93 was taken to her eternal home in heaven April 8, 2018. She passed peacefully in Maple Crest Care Center, Belvidere, IL. Born June 21, 1924 in Genoa, IL, the daughter of William E. and Catherine (Golwitzer) James. She was a graduate of Genoa High School Class of 1943. She married George Robert Weaver on November 26, 1947 and resided in Kirkland, IL. She worked as a Secretary at Tuttle Electric, Kirkland, until she and George retired to Florida in 1976, where she worked part-time in the accounting department of AT&T Paradyne, Largo, FL. She returned to the area in 2009. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed a good game of golf, was a huge Tampa Bay Ray fan, and loved to knit and crochet. She also had a beautiful voice and loved singing and performing in a choral group while in Florida.
Helen is survived by her children Jacque (Bob) Yilk, Robert Weaver, Rebecca (Ralph) Toro; grandchildren, Becky (Dave) Cleveland, Heather (Tom) Rutherford, Sarah (Mickey) Mueller, Justin (Stacey) Weaver, Jarrod Weaver, Andrea (Mark) Belmont, great grandchildren Sienna, Dalton, Blake, Cooper, Libby, Gy, Olivia and Cassidy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and husband, sisters Irene Coan, Marion Littlejohn, Evelyn James and brothers Thomas, Marvin, Leo, Elmer and Peter James.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave., Rockford, IL, with Pastor Dan Wynard officiating.
