Gregory A. Jenkins, 72, of Rockford passed away Monday, September 25,2023 at SwedishAmerican Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 25, 1951 to Robert and Edith (Wilde) Jenkins. Greg graduated from Guilford High School in 1970 and worked for Connie’s Pizzeria, Yahr Lang Drug Co, Kable News and finally retiring from Goodwill Industries in 2019. He enjoyed watching movies, reading, building models and discussing history with his favorite brother-in-law. He was an avid animal lover, Mood his feline companion will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Mike Cloyd and numerous cousins. Predeceased by his father and mother.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Regional Cancer Center, Dr. Mardini, Dr. Speight, CCU Nurse Madison, Nurse Communicator Beth, Oncology Nurses Barb and Shannon and Nurse Practitioners Kristin and Cindy for their care and compassion during Greg’s cancer journey.
Memorial Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2023 with a private burial at Riverview Cemetery, Oregon, Illinois.
