Gerald E Potts

Gerald E. Potts, 68, of Rockford passed away peacefully Thursday May 3, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born August 28, 1943 in Oregon, IL the son of Edward and Mabel (Lumsden) Potts. Gerald served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years for Ack Ack Nursery in Rockford before retirement. He married Eleanor Andersen on July 23, 1965, she survives him.

Gerald is also survived by his two daughters; April Potts and Andrea (Christopher) Francois, two grandsons; Nicholas and Andrew, four sisters; Marian (Charles) Heng, Dolores Brandon, Elsie Johnson and Theresa Mueller and one brother; James Potts.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 9, 2012 also at Sunset Funeral Home. Rev. Arvid Adell will be officiating services. Interment will take place following services at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice.
