George J. Wallace, 67, of Beloit passed away on March 14, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 18, 1945 in Rockford, he was the son of George and Regina (Jenkins) Wallace.
A United States Vietnam Army Veteran and a graduate of West High School, George retired from Daimler Chrysler after 26 years of service.
A devoted family man, he enjoyed fishing, dancing, walking his dog, Bear; sharing with friends, and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Sonia Wallace, Bridget (Curt) Clankie, Ryan (Tammy) Wallace, and Mandy (Nathan) Bergman; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Kayla, Anthony, Nick, Anthony, Karly, Amanda, Owen, and Addison; brothers, Edward Bick, Paul Wallace, Tom Wallace, and Dave Kerno; sisters Barb Musso, Regina VandeVisse, and Maryann Galliano; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his children, George Jr., Marie, and Amanda.
Service at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpin Road, with Pastors Ron Meyer officiating. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the funeral home. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park. Online condolences submitted at sunsetfhmemgardens.com
