Gail Ann O”Rourke, 63, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday August 28, 2016. A life well celebrated, Gail will always be remembered by the hundreds of students she transported to school, athletic games and community events. She held the seat behind the wheel of the Harlem School bus for over 18 years as well as being a graduate of Harlem. Gail was born November 24, 1952 in Rockford, IL. to Lester and Isabel Sallee. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army were she met and married Dennis O’Rourke in 1973, and shared 43 years while raising their three children. Gail enjoyed donating money to the casinos, going to the movies, especially Star Trek and preparing the Thanksgiving feast. She could usually be found behind a SciFi book or dabbling at the computer.
Gail is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, James, Annette O’Rourke; grandchildren, Austin and Sophia O’Rourke, Gabe and Natalie Law. Predeceased by parents; son Eric O’Rourke.
A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sat. Sept. 3 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, Il. with visitation from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Condolences to www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com
