Evelyn M Jensen

Evelyn Marie Jensen, age 87, from Rockford, IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, September 22, 2017. Evelyn was born on July 15, 1930 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of Nickolas and Katherine Yurkiewicz, both deceased. She was married to James R. Jensen of Chicago, IL also deceased.

Her survivors include her five children, James R. Jensen (Cathy), Clarissa Jensen (Joe Luchesse), Robert Jensen (Laurie), Barbara LaFasto (Frank LaFasto) and Susan Kwosek (Bob Kwosek), 14 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL. She lived at Independence Village where she was an active member of that community. She loved gardening, bingo, casino bus trips and traveling with friends and family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved to celebrate with her entire family.

A memorial service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL on Friday, September 29th at 2:00pm. Visitation will be at the same location prior to the service at 1:00pm. A private burial ceremony in Sunset Memorial Gardens will take place following the memorial service.
