Doyle E. Dixon

Doyle E. Dixon, 87, of Lindenwood, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, November 21, 2022. He was born April 3, 1935 in Fair Oaks, AR, the son of Earl and Mattie (Jones) Dixon. Doyle graduated from high school in Wynne, AR. He went on to proudly serve in the United States Army. Doyle was employed at J.L. Clark in Rockford for many years before retiring. He married Marie Gillespie on May 1, 1993 in Rockford. Doyle enjoyed tinkering with cars and repairing pocket watches. He loved collecting antiques and going to flea markets. Doyle had a love of gardening. Doyle was a loving, fun family man who will be missed.

Doyle is survived by his loving wife, Marie; step-children, Tom (Jo) Gillespie and Kelly (Mike) Sullivan; grandchildren, Chelsea Craig, Rachel Craig, Ashleigh Kayser, Heather Bahrman, Carley Zaho and Benny Gillespie; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Vickery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son Jim Gillespie, sister Vivain Young, brothers Lee, Bobby, Kenneth and Johnny Dixon.
