Donald R Woods

Donald Ray Woods, passed away November 6, 2019. He was born on August 25, 1954 to AC and Claudia Woods in Chicago, IL. Donald was a man who knew the value of a hard day’s work. He was a self-employed business man serving Northern IL with his cable and wiring trades. Don was a very hard working man and did whatever he needed to do to provide for his family. Donald was also a faithful veteran of the United States Navy having received a National Defense Service Metal during his time in the service. He was married to the love of his life, Daisy, for 35 years; and was a happily devoted husband and father. He enjoyed cooking, photography, relaxing at his lakefront home, while doing home projects, and watching the show "Law and Order" in his down time. His time was best spent at home, with his family creating memories. He is survived by his loving wife; Daisy, his children; Tracee Phillips, Dana (Levi) Ray, step-daughter; Shannah (John) Leuzzi his loving grandchildren; including a new grandbaby on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and several devoted close family members. He is also survived by his siblings; Diane Woods, Arcell Woods, and Darryl Woods. He is predeceased by his parents. A funeral service for Donald is scheduled for Saturday, November 16 at 2PM at Sunset Funeral home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL. With Pastor Kevin Williams officiating. A visitation will be held at 1pm until the time of service; with Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
