Donald E. Siefert, 94, of New Berlin, WI, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, April 26. 2019 at Care-Age of Brookfield. He was born June 30, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Herbert and Vera (Wood) Siefert. Donald graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the United States Army Infantry in Europe under General Patton during World War II and received a bronze star. Donald was married to Emma Belle Jewett for 62 years before her passing. He loved the Lord and adored his family. Don loved to laugh and always had a joke to tell as well as a kind word to say for those who were around. He had a lifelong fascination with airplanes, enjoyed reading about them and going to air shows. Donald was a Boy Scout leader when his sons were young. He put his engineering degree to good use, and helped his sons build soap box derby cars. Don was always grateful and was anxious to show kindness and generosity to those around him. His greatest joy was his family. Donald was the patriarch of our family and will truly be missed.
Donald is loved and missed by his sons, Paul Siefert, and Mark (Judy) Siefert; daughter, Beth (Terry) Miller; grandchildren, Nathan (Becca) Siefert, Brian Siefert, Kyle (Jen) Miller, Kayla (Josh) Stelling, and Brandon (Desiree) Miller; great-grandchildren, Josie, Angela, Tomas, Lydia, Ruby, Isaiah, Jacob, Jeriah, and Jasper; brothers, Albert Siefert, and Allen (Joyce) Siefert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Belle, son, Joel Alton, brother, Fred Siefert, and sister, Marian Ulman.
A celebration of Life visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Poplar Creek Church, 17770 Cleveland Ave, New Berlin Wi, 53146 in the upstairs sanctuary.The Celebration of Life service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at Poplar Creek Church following the visitation. Flowers can be sent to the church or if you prefer a financial donation to Poplar Creek Church Missions department under Donald's name.
