Clara Istad, 95, of Rockford IL left her earthly life on April 6, 2020. She was born in Rockford IL to Katherine and Anton Buchner on September 30, 1924. Clara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. On September 14, 1946 Clara married the love of her life, William Istad, and he predeceased her in October of 2003. She is remembered for being a loving woman who enjoyed baking, visiting with her loved ones, and walking around her neighborhood while she was able. Clara loved spending quality time with her grandson playing board games. She is survived by her children; Brian (Debbie) Istad of Rockford IL, and Cindy (Ron) Evans of Baton Rouge IN. and her grandson; Brandon Istad of Rockford IL.
She is predeceased by her husband; William Istad and her parents; Anton and Katherine Buchner, as well as her siblings; Tony and Elsie.
The family of Clara would like to thank Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center as well as Northern IL hospice for their loving care.
Cremation rites have been accorded and burial is at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
