Anita “Doty” Peterson, 84, of Rockford passed away peacefully Thursday, January 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 15, 1930 in Granite City, IL, to Fermin and Anna (Paur) Gonzalas.
She went on to marry Elmer Peterson on February 24, 1951.
Anita retired from Amerock after several years of faithful service. She thoroughly enjoyed trips to the casino, but was happiest when spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Deborah (Steven) Timmerman; daughter-in-law, Candi Peterson; grandchildren, Steph (Jared) Powless, Nic (Lisa Alton) Timmerman, and Ashley Peterson; great-grandchildren, McKynlee and Maycee Powless; sisters, Rosalee and Mary Lou.
Predeceased by her son, Terry Peterson; parents; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
