Angela L. Thompson

Angela L. Thompson, age 55, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Angela was born in Kankakee, Illinois on May 2, 1968 to Roger and Sandra Zelhart. In 1986 she graduated from Harlem High School and went into the medical field assisting as a billing specialist. On August 3rd 2006 Angela married Mark Thompson in Rockford, Illinois. They spent 17 beautiful years together. After 30 years of service Angela retired from University of Illinois College of Medicine. Angela was a diehard Kenny Chesney fan but she was an even bigger fan of her granddaughters, and she loved every moment she got to spend with them.

Angela is survived by her husband, Mark Thompson; children, Adam Sadler, Victoria Sadler and Tina (Seth) Thompson; grandchildren, Olivia, Ada, and Millie; mother, Sandra Brackett; siblings, Tammy Zelhart, Dawn Overton, and Jeff (Lani) Zelhart: several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, Grayson; father, Phillip Brackett; father, Roger Zelhart.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115). Private entombment with family will take place at a later date.
