Ronald Stephen Holmes, age 69, of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Ron was born December 5, 1952; to parents, Gerald Lee Holmes and Virginia Louise Morris. He married the love of his life, Denise, on November 19, 1982. Ron was a loving and doting husband, father, grandfather, and friend; who loved spending time with his beautiful family. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and BBQ grilling. Ron was an adventurous and equable man; one that loved going out on the boat, as well as watching Baseball and Football games. He was also, an avid guitarist and even made a few dulcimers. Ron will be truly missed, by all of those he met and knew through his lifetime.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald L. Holmes and Virginia L. Morris.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Denise Holmes of Gun Barrel City; sons, Jason Hagin and wife Chelsey of Keller, TX., Gerald Holmes of Bremerton, WA.; brother, Bill Jenkins of Kemp, TX.; sisters, Angie Barnes of Mesa, AR., Sandy Colvin of Ft. Garland, CO.; as well as, 3 grandchildren, Kylie Holmes, Tucker Holmes, and Zoey Hagin.
A Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Celebration of Life service will take place in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10:00am; officiated by Reverend Kenneth Manley. A burial will follow, immediately after the service; located at Cedar Creek Memorial Park.
