Raymond Clay Teppenpaw was born on May 21, 1941 to Coralie Parton and Charles Lee Teppenpaw, Jr. in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Clay served in the US Maries from 1958-1964 where he earned his sharp shooter rifle and sharp shooter pistol certifications. He also worked as a photographer of orthopedic and optical medical procedures. Clay was an active participant in the music industry on Nashville's Music Row as well. The non-profit organization, Anglican Family Services, was created by him in 1992 where he had many outreach programs such as a home for unwed mothers, the Bethany Project for HIV and dually diagnosed clients, a food pantry, and a church with Sunday school. On, October 16, 1996, Raymond Clay Teppenpaw was consecrated a bishop by the Episcopal Diocese of Nashville, Tennessee.
Clay was preceded in death by his parents Coralie Parton and Charles Lee Teppenpaw, Jr., sister Joy and step grandson Austin Young. Clay also had two brothers, James Teppenpaw and Charles Teppenpaw.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Teppenpaw, son Michael Teppenpaw and partner Greg McClure, son William Teppenpaw, stepdaughter Connie Young and husband Rory Young, stepson George Weilenmann and partner Jack French, and six grandchildren.
