Peggy was born on February 24, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to Elbert and Nellie Faye (Handley) Berry. She grew up in Oak Cliff and attended South Oak Cliff High School. Soon after Peggy met the love of her life in Jerry Miller and they were married on July 25, 1969, being blessed with 54 wonderful years together. Peggy learned many skills at a young age that she cherished all through life. She loved to cook for her family and spend time running from garage sale to garage sale. Peggy enjoyed gardening during good weather and quilting or sewing when indoors. She also loved to paint or watch TV programs that showcased singing and dancing. Peggy also volunteered at many locations around town. For example, at the school, at girl scouts, she also coached baseball and basketball. Peggy loved to help youth organizations and started one of her own called Campfire Boys & Girls, an organization designed to bring kids together in the great outdoors. Peggy also enjoyed having fun with dominoes, especially while playing 42, or going fishing, although she could never bring herself to eat the fish and would always throw them back.
Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elbert and Nellie Berry; and son-in-law, Steven Reiter.
She is survived by her caring husband, Jerry Miller; daughter, Melinda Reiter; son, Melvin “Bud” Miller; daughter like niece, Crystal Schwartz; granddaughter, Zoe Reiter; and many family friends.
