Nancy Joyce Story McCormick, age 69, of Eustace, TX left our world to go be with Our Lord on Tuesday April 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She loved life to the fullest, always laughing and having a smile on her face.
Nancy was born on October 13,1954 to Robert (Bob) Sidney and Frieda Kaye Story in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Carter High School in 1972 she began working as a secretary for her parents at Story Electric and on July 21 of that same year she married the love of her life Tommy McCormick for which they have remained married for the next 51 plus years.
In 1982, Nancy became the President and Owner of Story Electric and HVAC Supply along with her husband Tommy and in 2006 they move the company from Dallas to its current location in Mabank, TX.
Nancy was a strong and amazing woman, wife, sister, and friend who touched countless lives. Her passion for animals was beyond anything you could possibly imagine. But moreover, she loved working with all her cows on her and Tommy’s ranch. From naming each one, to feeding them to moving them from pasture-to-pasture, Nancy found a calling that fit her warm and calm personality.
As a Business Owner, Nancy was well known in Mabank for her charitable sponsorships. She loved helping not only the kids in the area but the community as a whole.
Nancy is preceded by her parents Bob and Frieda Story, a son Kevin “Maynard” McCormick, and Mother-in-Law Mildred McCormick.
She is survived by her husband Tommy McCormick; a brother Bobby Story and wife Sheri of Royse City, TX; a niece Megan Story McLemore of Roanoke, TX; nephews Matthew Story and Allen Story of Sachse, TX; a niece Kyleigh Hamm of Wylie,TX; cousin, Michael Mayhew, and children, Elizabeth King, Amanda Bramlet, and Kristen Sumey; Two Aunts and an Uncle; Kelly and Kelly Blaylock and their wonderful kids from Mabank, TX; Ron and Glenda Carrell from Troutville, VA; Wayne and Tonya Wyatt from Roanoke, Va; Brent and Marla Stephens from Auburn Hill, MI; and many other cousins and extended family friends
