Born on July 9, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, Nancy was the daughter of the late Clarence Vincent Wilson and the late Nancy Malicia Roach Wilson.
Along with her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers Paul, Elmo, and Charles Wilson; and sisters Biddie Arnold and Alice Kerry.
She is survived by her daughters Tonja Kyser and her husband, Gary, and Cynthia Strother; her son Jerrod Griffith; grandchildren Miranda Marshall and husband, Nathan, Cameron Flores and wife, Amanda, Chelsea Boshart and husband, Jamie, and Kaci Strother; great-grandchildren Cydni, Hunter, Kaydence, Erin, Whytli, Abigail, and Luka; and a host of nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.
She grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas then moved to her family’s farm in Combine, Texas where she met and married her husband of 64 years, Lovel Griffith.
Nancy had a passion for music. She loved playing her baby grand piano. Floyd Cramer tunes were among her favorites to play as well as standard hymns. Often she could be found dancing around the living room with her children and singing the words to a Ray Charles song playing on the stereo. She found simple ways to make life fun. She loved decorating, baking, and entertaining, especially during the holiday season. Outside her family life, she enjoyed serving others through her church and in the community. She is remembered by others for her giving spirit.
Nancy worked in sales throughout her life, as a small business owner, with the Zales Corporation in Dallas and ended her career with Grays Jewelry in Texarkana, Texas where she retired. She will be missed by all who loved her.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Combine.
