Mr. Melvin Ray King was born on December 7, 1940 in Dayton, TX to parents Curtis Euell King and Bessie Elvina Frizzell and entered into eternal rest on August 20, 2015 at the age of 74. Melvin owned and operated Melvin’s Barber Shop for over 30 years. He liked collecting old ships, antiques and barber equipment. Melvin loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very loving and kind man who will be missed tremendously by his family and friends.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and son Curtis King.
He is survived by his wife Bertha King of Mabank, son David King of Zavalla, daughter Terri King Hoyt and husband Tim of Odessa, daughter Sherry Nelson and husband Kerry of St. Augustine, FL, seven grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, other loving family members and many more friends.
