Born on December 13, 1990, in Athens, Texas, he was a son of Gregory Michael Kerr and Judy Juanita Morse Kerr.
Matthew was a bright soul with a contagious smile. He loved Santa, trucks, tractors, trains, train rides and his Baby Jacob Boy. To know Matthew was to love him and to be loved by him was something fierce. Matthew was diagnosed with leukemia at 13 months and faced many challenges due to the treatments. His smile, however, rarely left his face unless you wanted a picture. In spite of the doctors who said he would not live past the age of 5, Matthew lived another 29 years. His life is a testimony to the love and care that came from his mom, who never left his side and always fought his battles alongside him.
Matthew is survived by his mother Judy Kerr; father Greg Kerr and wife, Beth; sister Lauren Terry and husband, Damon; brothers Stefhan Kerr and wife, Brittney, and Kyle Myers; paternal grandmother Barbara Kerr; stepsiblings Krystyne Wright and Jacob Hill; and nieces and nephews Kyndal, Shaelee, Brayden, Drake, Haygen, Deacon, Lucy Kayte, and Hudson. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Pawpaw and Nenaw Morse and paternal grandfather Marvin “Pawpaw” Kerr; cousin Jordan Von Hoffman; favorite dog SassyGirl; and best friend Josh Murphy.
