Celebration of life funeral services for Mary Maxine Schronk, 85, of Malakoff, Texas will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 16, 2024, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Gun Barrel City, Texas with Pastor Nelson officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
Mary passed away December 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 17, 1939, in Irving, Texas to Mack Ellis and Mary Opal (Burgoon) Watson. Mary grew up in Mansfield, Texas where throughout life she learned many talents. Mary loved to sew and frequently made blankets for preemie babies in local hospitals. She enjoyed cooking, catering events and BBQing where she could spend time with her beloved family. Mary adored to teach the younger generation as a substitute teacher at school, during VBS and as a Sunday School teacher during church. She met the love of her life in Robert Schronk who she married on September 25, 1992, and was blessed with 32 wonderful years of hunting, fishing and gardening together.
Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Deneen; parents, Mack and Opal Watson; brothers: Chester, Jimmy; and sister, Dora Mae.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Schronk; sons: Charles and wife Pam, Dwayne, Wendell and wife Yolanda; daughters: Dorynda and husband Bobby, Robin and husband Butch; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers: Leroy, Johnny and wife Joyce; sister, Pat and husband Ronnie; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Smith, Charles Ray, Carl Longacre, Calvin Gray, Arron Westbrook and Alex Pulido. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ty Gray and Butch Moeller.
