Services for Linda Gallatin will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10am at St. James on the Lake Episcopal Church in Kemp, Texas with Rev. Jerry Morriss officiating. Graveside service will follow to Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Linda was born June 1, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to Clayton V. and Lorene Ayers. She attended Rosemont Elementary School, W.E. Greiner Middle School and graduated in 1959 from Sunset High School. Linda worked as an Administrative Assistant at Texas Instruments, Texas Oil and Gas and Principal Financial. She was active in Epsilon Sigma Alpha Philanthropy Sorority. While in the sorority, Linda held local, state and international positions. Linda married the love of her life, Gary Gallatin, in Dallas, Texas on February 16, 1980. She also played a vital role in the local women’s organizations. Linda held office with the Cedar Creek Women’s Club and Civic League. She loved her church, St. James on the Lake, serving as senior warden, teaching Women’s Bible Study classes. Linda was a special lady. She loved orchids and enjoyed growing them in her sunroom. Linda was an amazing wife, mother and aunt. She will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lt. Norman D. Ayers and aunt Leona Ayers.
She is survived by her loving husband Gary Gallatin of Kemp, son Daryl Gallatin and wife Kristine of Hudson, MA, niece Vicki Ayers Lee of Pfafftown, NC, nephew Richard Duane Ayers of St. Louis, MO, nephew Norman D. Ayers Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Linda's honor to either St. Jude's Hospital, American Cancer Society or Hospice of East Texas.
