Mrs. Joyce Freeman Douglas

Virginia was born on January 21, 1929 in Van Zandt County to parents Samuel Knox and Lettie Leah (Norman) Freeman and entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2014 at the age of 85. Virginia was known by her family and friends as “Joyce”. She loved gardening, fishing and being outdoors. Joyce held her family close to her heart. She loved traveling to Colorado, Rockport and The Texas Coast. Joyce graduated and received her diploma from Mabank High School on May 22, 1947. She was a homemaker for over 30 years. Joyce was a Methodist by faith. She was a very loving and caring lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert Henry Douglas, brothers; Buster, Sam, E.B. and Norman.

She is survived by her brother Bill Freeman and wife Daphine of Mabank, twin sister Loyce Ferrell of Dallas, twin sons; David Douglas and wife Susan of Garland, Danny Douglas and wife Sharry of Dallas, daughter Susie Ritchie and husband Roger of Frisco, four grandchildren; Tracy Boydston and husband Billy, Chris Douglas and wife Melissa, Chelsea Scheel and husband Jerrod and Danielle Douglas, four great-great grandchildren; Savanah Boydston, Logan Douglas, Avery Scheel and Jace Scheel, a host of loving family and many more friends.
