Jim Gibbs was born on February 12, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to parents Charles Shannon and Ina Bell (West) Gibbs and entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2019 at the age of 69. He graduated from Waxahachie High School and then joined the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. When Jim returned home he went to work as a truck driver. Jim took pride in his professional career as a truck driver for 50 years. He married Barbara on December 23, 1982 in Waxahachie, Texas. Jim was a simple, hardworking family man. He had a good heart, always putting his family first. Jim had a great sense of humor and was always making his family laugh. He loved riding the back roads with the kids. Jim was Texas through and through, kind hearted and had the best smile in the world. He loved Merle Haggard and was mistaken as him, more than once. Jim was a wonderful person, husband and father. He will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Charlotte Hutchinson and Reba Gibbs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara Gibbs of Kemp, sons; Jimmie Gibbs and wife Shey of Kingsland, Michael Broner of Kemp and Gary Broner of Kingsland, daughter Brenda Hudgins and husband Richard of Maypearl, grandchildren; Ashton, Aieryl, Avery, Aries, Frey, Braxton, Mikayla, Ashley, Journie, Imagin and Zander, great-grandson Kayden, sister Nancy Beck of Red Oak, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
