It is with deep sadness that the family of Jeremiah (Jeremy) Comley announces his passing at home in Mabank, Texas, on March 14, 2025, with his beloved wife, Amy Comley, by his side. He was 46 years old, born on October 27, 1978, in Denver, Colorado.
Jeremy is survived by the love of his life, Amy Comley; his mother and stepfather, Janee and Jerry Will of the Lake of the Ozarks; his father, Joseph Comley of Wichita, Kansas; and his brother and sister-in-law, Joshua and Dafnny Comley of Tampa Bay, Florida.
Jeremy and Amy were married in Taos, New Mexico, a place that remained close to their hearts and one of their favorite vacation spots along with South Padre Island and Surfside Beach, Texas.
Jeremy took fishing seriously. He was one of those rare people who always caught something, no matter the conditions. He just knew where, when, and how every time. His love of fishing began at four years old, with nothing more than a stick, a string, a hook, and a piece of stale bread. From that day on, he was hooked for life.
He adored his animals and was convinced he was an animal whisperer. His chickens, goats, dogs and any creature that happened to wander onto their property were met with the same love and care.
In April 2018, Jeremy's dream came true when he and Amy moved to the country. With enough land to target practice, shoot fireworks (the bigger, the better), and enjoy two fishing ponds, he was truly in his element. Jeremy could spend hours sometimes days outdoors, where he was happiest.
Growing up, Jeremy was quiet, sweet, and a little shy. As he grew older, he became fearless, outspoken, and full of life. He was fun, funny, and always ready for another adventure. He never met a stranger and didn't believe in the word "no." He didn't have a volume button, and boundaries weren't exactly his thing but that's what made him uniquely Jeremy, and why we all loved him so deeply.
Jeremy was diagnosed with cancer in July 2022. He faced it with strength and the mindset of a fighter. His passion for life and anticipation for what was next never wavered. Yes, he rang the bell cancer free. It was a heart attack that took Jeremy from us.
Jeremy will be painfully missed, but we take comfort knowing that his final adventure led him to heaven, where he reunites with loved ones who went before him.
