James Ray Ferguson, age 74, of Lawrence County, Ohio. He went to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 1, 2021. James was born March 31, 1947 to Russell and Bertha Ferguson. James was a very devoted husband to his wife Rebecca Shelton; they married on June 21, 1986 in her mother’s home in Tool, Texas. They shared 37 wonderful years together. James was known to many as “Jim.” He was a stern but gentle soul. He cherished spending time with his family.
James was a member of the Pentecostal church of his community and enjoyed fellowship with his fellow brothers and sisters. He also loved reading his Bible to learn more of the word of the Lord. When James had free time, he enjoyed playing his guitar.
James will be truly missed but never forgotten.
James is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Bertha Ferguson; son, Michael Ray Ferguson, and ten brothers and sisters.
James is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ferguson; sons, James David and Gena Ferguson, Roger and Debbie Adkins; daughters, Jennifer Chandler and Shannon Cunningham, Patsy Laborde. James also leaves behind numerous grand and great grandchildren, family, and friends.
