Henry Houston Parrott was born on November 25, 1937 in Peacock, Texas to parents Henry Houston and Mary (Coats) Parrott II and entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2019 at the age of 81. Henry married his sweetheart, Iva Jo Snow, on December 29, 1962 in Juarez, New Mexico. After being married for several years, Jo convinced Henry to go back to school and earn his GED and he did just that at Carlsbad High School in New Mexico. Henry earned his diploma in 1967. He then went to work for Sears, where he worked for 35 years, before retiring. Henry was a hard worker, loyal and was devoted to his family. He was known as “Gollie” and “Papa Bird” by his grandchildren. Henry liked old cars and enjoyed working on them. He liked racing cars and riding motorcycles. Henry was a strong man and loved being a daredevil. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Henry will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved him.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, son Rance F. Parrott, brother Elza Parrott, sisters; Sue Richardson and Nadell Giddings.
He is survived by his loving wife Jo Parrott of Mabank, son Vance Parrott and wife Janice of Carlsbad, NM, son Jeff Thomas of Dallas, son Philip Thomas and wife Tammy of Wylie, daughter Brenda Lake and husband Chuck of Dallas, son Christopher Parrott and wife Ann of Dallas, 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, sister of Rance and Vance Parrott; Merica Hunt and husband David of Sierra Vista, AZ, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
