Evelyn was born on September 8, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to parents W. Earl and Gracie Evelyn (Parrott) Smith and entered into eternal rest on August 5, 2020 at the age of 88. Evelyn was known as “Granny” to those who knew and loved her best and “Evie” to family and friends. She graduated from Carrollton High School and Baylor University with her Associates in Education and Religion. Evelyn was employed with J.Y. Schoonmaker Co. as their bookkeeper. She had a strong faith in God and loved her family. Evelyn’s grandchildren would say, “Granny is the best because she loves us and spoils us with her time.” She loved being around her grandchildren spoiling them and loving them dearly. Evelyn enjoyed needle work, crafts and sewing. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Legendary Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City; where she also was a Sunday School teacher. Evelyn was an amazing mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother and aunt. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles R. Smith and sister Peggy Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Clark of Oregon, granddaughter Melissa Burrage Villareal and husband Juan of Dallas, great-grandchildren; Jasmine Villarreal, J.J. Villarreal, Julia Villarreal and Jonathan Villarreal, granddaughter Crystal Pfeil, great-grandchildren; Joey Pfeil, Noah Pfeil and Elijah Pfeil, niece Janis Galloway and husband Thomas of Mabank, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
