Charles Richmond Ford, beloved husband, father, and Grandfather went to be with the Lord sunday, December 29, 2024 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
He was born in Marlin, Texas, July 17, 1943 to Clemmie and Roberta Ford. He grew up in Calvert, Texas, where he was the star athlete in every sport available. Upon graduating high school he went to Baylor University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He then went into the Navy for 4 years before coming back to Baylor to attend Law School.
In September of 1970 he met Susan DuBose, who was attending Baylor as well. They fell in love and were married May 23, 1971. 1974 was a big year for Charles' family. They moved to Kaufman, where he started practicing law and their first child, David was born. In 1979, they were blessed with their second son, Chris. Charles loved being with his sons and grandchildren, Joel and Renee Ford.
They joined First Baptist Church and within a month he was teaching 7th and 8th grade boys Sunday School. He never lost his love for teaching young people about the Bible and Jesus Christ. After they moved from Kaufman, he taught Awanas in First Baptist Church Mabank and now Children's Church at the Cowboy Church. Charles loved fishing, playing golf and playing, teaching Bridge. He obtained the rank of Ruby Life Master and was an accredited online Bridge teacher.
