Billy passed from this life on February 24, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on August 2, 1933, in Purmela, Texas to Roscoe Jackson and Gwyneth Sallie (Robinson) Smith. Billy grew up in Gatesville, Texas, as the youngest of seven children. Billy met the love of his life, Peggy in Dallas, Texas and they married on April 21, 1953. Bill spent most of his life driving as a career. From a Dallas city bus, to a limousine in Las Vegas. He also spent a portion of time working for TxDot. Bill spent his retirement years buying and selling as his hobby. He loved horses, trailers, guns, knives, and lawn mowers. Billy enjoyed RVs and spent many days traveling coast to coast with Peggy.
Billy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy (Mooneyham) Smith; son, David Smith; grandson, Justin Smith; parents, Roscoe and Sallie Smith, five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his daughters: Susan Williams and husband Joe, Jodi Hamilton and husband Ronald; son, Stephen Smith and wife Donna; adored grandchildren: Brad, David, Michael, Zach, Josh, Aarron, Rae’chyll; treasured great grandchildren: Daylon, Addison, Bryce, Mia L, Mia W, Matthew, Andrew; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Pallbearers will be Brad Williams, David Lott, Jr., Michael Lott, Josh Williams, Aarron Farmer, Daylon Lott and Bryce Lott.
