Billy Wayne Hunt, of Mabank, was born on September 11, 1943 in Amory, Mississippi to parents A.C. and Helen (Sawyer) Hunt and entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2014 at the age of 70. Billy was a hard worker, who enjoyed farming, growing vegetables and working his cattle. He loved hunting deer, fishing on Cedar Creek Lake, Lake Tawakoni and Lake Whitney. Billy enjoyed camping at state parks in Texas and Oklahoma. Billy and Beverley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2012, they were married October 13, 1962. He owned and operated a concrete business for many years. Billy was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed building bookshelves and custom cabinets. He created display cases that can be seen at Parkland Hospital. Billy could overcome any woodworking challenge. He was a faithful member at Faith Community Baptist Church. Billy was a very talented, loving and caring soul, who will be missed by all who knew him.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, son Billy Dale Hunt, daughter-in-law Roxanne Hunt, brother James Hunt, sister Emeline Squires, nephews; David Ray Hunt, Patrick Eugene Hunt and James Hunt Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jane Hunt, sons; Michael Hunt and fiancé Leslie, Johnnie Hunt and wife Karry Moore, Richard Hunt and wife Stefani, daughter Georgia Porter, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers; Paul Hunt and wife Cathy, Pat Hunt and wife Lana, Owen Buckwheat Thompson and wife Debbie, William Thompson, best friends; Mark Frost, Timmy Sims “The Tool Man” and Don Pope, a host of extended family and friends.
