It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, William Thomas Lefley (Mr. Bill), who passed away September 11th, 2024 in Kirkland, WA at the age of 95. His final wish was for Jesus to take him home and be reunited with his late wife, Vivian Lefley.
Born on May 23, 1929 in Seattle, Washington to William B. Lefley and Mildred Hermansen, he spent his entire life in Seattle and was a devoted husband to Vivian and father to his children Steve Lefley and Gwen Anderson.
Bill lived a very fulfilling life and was always on the go. He was employed at Pacific Northwest Bell/US West Communications from June 1947 to March 1987. He began as a foot messenger, worked installation and repair, held numerous staff jobs and retired as Manager of Personnel and Budgets. It is also where he met Vivian. He was offered an early retirement which allowed him an extended retirement of 37 years. He loved spending time at his grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities and relished time spent with family. He was an avid Washington Husky fan and held season tickets. He attended church at The Creekside Church in Lynnwood, WA.
He prioritized his health by eating healthy and getting in his 10,000+ steps every day, rain or shine, well into his 90's. He had an impressive memory and could name every vehicle (and home) ever owned down to the make, model, year and price he paid. Bill lived in Wandering Creek in Bothell for many years where he was a vital part of the community.
He is survived by Steve and Gwen (Rod), grandchildren Stacey Messer (Mike), Brittany Anderson, Lindsay Solem (Bryan), Eric Lefley and Shannon Hille (Shane) and great grandchildren Madison, Asher, Hudson, Morgan and Scarlet. He is also survived by his brother Richard Parrett and sisters Barbara Eells and Martha Hanson, loving companion June Wightman as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
At his request, a private service will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wandering Creek Memorial Fund, 831 240th Street SW, Bothell, WA 98021.
Rest in peace, dear dad, brother and gramps. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
