William “Bill” Alfred Gillam III, 75, of Lynnwood, Washington passed away peacefully in Edmonds, Washington on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. He was born December 2, 1939, the oldest of three brothers in Mason City, WA. Bill studied engineering at the University of Washington. He married Patricia Colwell on September 16, 1960 in Snohomish, WA. Bill spent all of his adult life in Snohomish County working as a General Manager in refractory construction. He was a truly one of a kind, old-school gentleman who had an incredible sense of humor and wit. Bill enjoyed motorcycle riding, hillclimbing, and camping. He was also a lifelong fan of Ford products, golf, and Nascar. But above all, he loved his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife Pat; his children William IV (Karen) and Pamela (Richard) Freed, his grandchildren Laura (Zach), Richard Jr., William V (Jessica), Nicole, and James; his great-grandchildren Zoey and Rose; and brothers Donald (Barbara) Thornberry and Thomas (Barbara) Gillam. A memorial service will be held on September 9, 2015, at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills in Lynnwood at 2 p.m.
