Susan Collins Pemble, 71, of Lynnwood, Washington passed peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on May 28, 2021. Susan was born on July 15, 1949 in Seattle, Washington and was one of six children born to Frederick and Margaret Collins. Susan grew up in the Wallingford area where she attended St. Benedicts and Blanchet High School. After graduation, Susan went to work as an office manager for an orthopedic surgeon, and later worked in telecommunications.
At age 18 she met the love of her life, Donald B. Pemble. They were married in February of 1970 and had two children, Blair and Allison. They raised their children in their home in Bothell, Washington and in retirement, enjoyed living in Port Isabel, Texas; Buckeye, Arizona and Lynnwood, Washington.
Susan loved to be active and enjoyed the outdoors such as fishing, golfing, boating, and traveling. One of her most cherished places to visit was the Mana Kai in Kihei, Hawaii. She loved to walk the beach and look for shells with her family. Susan loved to spend time with her six grandchildren, watching their various sporting events, and vacationing with family at Disney themes parks in California, and Florida; Crescent Bar, and many Northwest beaches.
Susan was an avid animal lover and donated to the Human Society and many other charitable organizations. Especially loved was her rescue cat, Chance. He was their companion and travel buddy for a decade. Her hobbies were shopping, playing cards, gardening and reading.
In June of 2019 Susan was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Susan fought a brave and strong battle for nearly two years with the support of her family and care of Seattle Cancer Care Alliance before succumbing to the disease.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret as well as her infant sister. She is survived by her husband Don of 51 years, her two children Blair Pemble (Katie), Allison Zorich (Andy) and six grandchildren (Sydney, Mason and Cooper Pemble; Colbi, Oliver and Dempsey Zorich). Also survived by her sisters Patti Kirk (Mike), Kathy Bean (Kent), Margie Twiford and her brother Fred Collins (Julie).
A celebration of life for Susan will be planned for later this summer.
