Dear Mrs. Miazga and family,

Ron and I were childhood friends and attended Fairfield Prep together. I am saddened by his death but will always remember him as the great friend and team mate that he was. I was looking forward to seeing him at the reunion. My deepest sympathy to you and your children. May he rest in peace with Our Lord.

I had the pleasure of being a student of Ron’s during many training classes at Univar USA over the past 19 years.  His seminars were consistently well organized and interesting along with generous amounts of his humor.  More importantly, the lessons and concepts he taught stayed with you long after the meeting was completed.  My wife, Carol and I also were delighted to spend time with Ron and Sharyn many years ago in the Napa Valley at a company-sponsored event.  We were impressed with the mutual respect and admiration they had for each other.  Ron had the unique ability to always make you feel he was interested in what you had to say and how you were doing.  While his responsibilities put him in touch with hundreds of individuals in an organization that numbers in the thousands, he could always make you feel special as an individual.  We will miss him very much, and our thoughts are with his family.

To Ron's Family; 
Ron recently joined our old codgers lunch group as our youngest member. In the short time I was blessed to know him, his upbeat outlook  on everything was amazing. He faced his surgery resolute and convinced of a positive outcome. I'm saddened that the outcome wasn't positive and will miss him at our luncheons in Seattle.

I worked with Ron on and off over the course of the 22 years I've been with Univar.  Though we we were not always in touch, he always would greet me with a warm smile and a kind word - always genuinely happy to see you.  He was truly a gentleman - such a sweet spirit and kind soul.  He will be greatly missed.  You are in my prayers during this very difficult time.

We were all deeply saddened to hear of Ron's passing.  And certainly, our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.

Ron was a very special man.  He brought structure and thought to each meeting he facilitated, and he would do so in such a positive and uplifting manner.  His unique way of accepting each comment or idea with total respect only contributed to the participation and quality of the meeting.  He committed himself to the objective, and did his research and always delivered.  And with a very special sense of humor.  He made it fun and easy to learn - and he helped us all get better.  And that was always the goal, right?

I will remember Ron most for his stories, hearing about his pre-Univar life, our meetings, his leadership, his golf game, his overall optimistic attitude, and his bright yellow dress shirt.  I would always kid him about wearing it - no one slept in a meeting when he was wearing that shirt.

All of us were truly blessed by this man.

I feel so fortunate to have spent the last 3+ years working on Ron’s Learning Services team.  He was unfailingly loyal to his group, always supporting us in any way he could.  Ever cheerful, so enthusiastic, with a great sense of humor and a wonderful team spirit.  Ron made everyone feel that their contributions were valuable, and honored each of us as an individual.  
Since he left the company, we kept in touch, and we were planning golf in the summer, and eggnog again next Christmas.  He and my husband also became acquainted in the last several months, and I had so looked forward to getting to know him more as a friend during his post-Univar years.  I feel such a loss for not getting that opportunity.    
To echo what many have said, I will never forget Ron.  He is one of those people you can only aspire to emulate, and though he may be gone, his influence on my life is forever. 
Sail away, Cap’n Ron.

I recently retired from Univar Canada and I had many dealings with Ron over the last 20 years. We became friends since he had so many great qualities I like in a person. On my visits to Kirkland, then to Redmond he was always one of the first to greet me saying "I heard you were going to be in today" Ron touched so many lives in Canada as well as the US. He will be missed by many many people

As the husband of my dear friend Sharyn, I have had the true pleasure of knowing Ron.  I was privileged to see him in so many different lights.  I watched as, after he allowed our writing group to use his company's facility, he came to check that all was conveniently set up.  It was a quick trip, because he was taking Whitney to her softball game, and they left together for what was important to her and thus to him.  He was a good father and shared in raising exceptional children.

Ron was a loving and supportive husband.  When Sharyn had the courage to leave her job, to follow her dream of writing full-time, Ron was there with encouragement.  He was there for her, and she was there for him.  They shared dreams, sickness and health.  He never begrudged her time with parents, chilren or friends.  Instead, Ron welcomed us, and even had the courage, the last time I sat and talked with him, to ask me about the novel I am writing.  As the husband of a writer, he knew what he was in for, but cared enough about me to ask.

There are so many memories, but the one dearest to me is when he gave away his prize from a golf tournament.  My Dad was dying, and instead of going off to Canada for a wonderful trip, Ron made it possible for Sharyn to take me.  It was a time of healing and renewal.

I will miss the man who made such a difference in so many lives.

I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Ron's untimely passing.  Among the many adjectives that describe Ron are:  upbeat, professional, helpful, kind, compassionate, considerate, decent, fun, honorable, funny, patient, creative, knowledgeable, gracious, ethical, fair, gentleman.  We worked together on several projects and enjoyed sharing seats to the Seattle Mariners games for several seasons.   I am honored to have known and worked with Ron these past 21 years.

What a shock.  I wish words could express how much I will miss my dear friend, boss, mentor, and true gentleman who taught me much over the last 20 years.  I echo what others have said, Ron was a man of great integrity, positive inspiration and a charismatic leader, who I know helped me be a better person.  I feel very fortunately to have met and worked with him.  He will remain in my fondest memories and I will miss him beyond words.

When I joined Univar 7 years ago, Ron was one of the first leaders I worked with to design new training formats.  Ron was enthusiastic and an inspiration to all that worked with him.  His optimism was contagious and I treasure the lessons he taught me.  His legacy is his influence on so many of his colleagues to look for opportunities to improve our outlook and never forget the perspective of the customer.  I remember him as one of the unique leaders who embraced change while never losing his sense of humor or his Hawaiian shirt!

I can't express how sorry I am to hear of Ron's passing. He was a very special individual who always led by example. He was never too busy to listen, offer a kind word and help when called upon.

There are many stories, but one of my best memories of Ron was when he graciously agreed to teach the Basics of Golf to individuals in the accounting group who had never picked up a club. He brought his clubs to work and taught a fun, interactive class to all who attended. What impressed me most was his patience during the training session and how he unselfishly gave the group hands on training after hours. 

He was truly a friend, colleague and a special person who will be missed by all.

Over the years, Ron was truly one of my favorite people  - I first met Ron when he did training for our inside sales group in LA years ago. He continued to impress me with his enthusiasm and knowledge.  The world has lost one of its true heroes.

Of all of the individuals I’ve met through business, Ron Miazga stands out as one of the finest gentlemen I’ve encountered.  His upbeat and positive demeanor was an inspiration for those of us fortunate enough to work with him.   He will be missed, but his friendship will remain in our memories.

"Capt Ron" as I called him was my mentor and role model for over 12 years. He taught me to overcome challenges with grace and to always think positive through any situation and to be solution oriented.

He was a blessing in my life and many others all over the world and he will be greatly missed.

Ron was a wonderful boss and person. I am so sorry he was taken so young. He truly loved his family and would do anything for you.

I will miss his fun, creative ways, including his "drive bys" we nicknamed for when he would stop by our desk to seek our help our advice. Whenever you were having a bad day, Ron could make you feel important and worthwhile with just a quick comment and smile.

I'm praying God will be close to you in these difficult days.

Ron was someone very special.  I’ve never met anyone who was more generous with others.  His stories about all of you were so filled with love, with praise, with admiration, with humor, and with real “seeing” of who each of you is as an individual in the world.

Ron had time for all of us.  And not just time.  He had kind words.  He gave support.  No matter how awful the circumstances, he knew what to say to bring strength and hope and help put perspective into the chaos.

I am a different person because of him.  Along with teaching me the finer points of the game of golf, he showed (by his example) the way to happiness and joy-filled living.

I will dearly miss my friend, and I am so sorry for your loss.
