I loved Penny's rebel side. This is August 28th 2020 she married my husband and I in the middle of the pandemic we had one more person than allowed no masks it was awesome. I had known Penny for years fostering after we met at an adoption event at a MudBay. She was a treasure of a person so glad we met. I still have kitty's from her and now their just that much more special.  

Penny has a warrior spirit. She didn't brag about her ability to move mountains for the causes she believed in. She is humble about her accomplishments and abilities.
She felt fear & took action anyway. She would take action even when the outcome was uncertain. She moved forward & faced up to her fears, even when it was difficult to do so. She knew herself. She is clear on what makes her tick. This took her to the edge of her comfort zone.
Penny has a passion for life. Her spirit loves with all she had. Penny left no stone unturned in getting to the depths of what's possible. Her heart remained open.
Penny knew of suffering in her life. And even during the experience of suffering, she picked herself up again. She faced up to the feeling of suffering with honor and courage. She loves with all of her heart. She continued to love & to thrive. Being able to suffer gave her warrior spirit incredible empathy. That's why she stood up for the downtrodden. Penny has empathy for the suffering of all life due to her experiences. And that made her able to relate to people & animals who are struggling in life.
Having a warrior spirit made her care about others, never completely focused on her own hopes & needs. She wanted to lend a helping hand.
Penny is honest with herself about what she wanted. Her actions spoke louder than words, moving quickly into action. She believed actions speak louder than words. Penny preferred to show you who she is rather than tell you who she is.
She kept her head held high no matter what happens in life from a sense of pride & self-love. She didn't need recognition or validation for what she's doing in life. She is proud of who she is, whether experiencing suffering or success.
With deep love & gratitude, I say a final good-bye to a dear friend whom I will miss forever and always until our warrior spirits meet once again.

Miss you mom you were an amazing woman, now God gets to have you in heaven as one of his angels you will be greatly missed forever loved and never forgotten thank you for all you have done and for everything you have taught me I wish I could have had more memories shared with you I will very much miss you always

I first met Penny after my cat passed away. I wanted to help and I became a foster. I also became involved in making the website, taking pictures, transporting and running the software to list the cats. We worked together very well for several years through the ups and downs of the different rescue groups she had. Soon after, I told her I was ready to adopt my own Siamese kitten again and she told me she had the perfect cat in mind. His rescue name was Tobey but I changed it to Purrseus. I feel like she knew perfectly well how perfect we were for each other. He is the most loving cat I’ve ever had and it was exactly what I needed. I live for this cat. The only picture I can find is the one she took of Purrseus for me, it’s not the best picture, but I really love that it has both her and Purrseus in it.

Penny was probably also the only person I would ever drive to Spokane and back in the same day for to pick up a cat. We rescued many cats and found many great loving homes for them. I learned so much from her. She never wavered in her love or drive to help cats no matter how heartbreaking it could be sometimes. She loved wholeheartedly. 

But Penny was more to me than just someone I worked with. She was also a friend. She had such an air of cool around her. I don’t even remember coming out as trans to her, but I remember when I had a hysterectomy, her and Robin showed up at my house with home made cupcakes.  And they were delicious! It was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.

Sadly, I won’t be able to attend the service as much as I want to. I found out a little late of her passing and I am in Texas. But it also feels fitting that since moving here, I have become involved with another Siamese rescue group here and will be picking up my first foster in Texas on the day of the services. I will carry her with me as I continue her work wherever I go. My heartbreaks for her family and friends, I know she loved you all as much as she loved cats. 

FAM, since we may not all see each other until the celebration of life all at once, I do want to let you know how much your mom impacted me. Through my late teens to my late twenties when I meet my Bio-Family your mom was always there for me. I would not be here with out her and her wonderful advice. 

Their where many nights when I wanted to end it all, it felt like Penny could just sense my anxiety and depression and would tell me to come over, no matter the time, whether it be 2pm or 2 am, It was your mom who I could talk to about things I could never tell or felt like I could ever tell to anyone else. She was the first person I came out to, she was the first to yell at me and tell me family is the people in your life that love you and care for you, no matter what.

I do feel bad about being so distance the last 3 years, but I knew no matter what, she understood.

The kitty up above is a cat your mom fought for she was determined to give this cat a good life it had a rough start she asked us to Foster while she went on vacation well Foster failed and we fell in love and adopted her if it hadn't been for your mom and the love she had for Animals, we've lost a special person and the animals have lost their angel. Penny was one of the most caring, loving, giving people I knew.  She helped me find a home for a dog that I didn't think was good with cats after testing him with my cats.  The home that he went to had a cat. Penny called me and said "Lisa, he is good with cats, your cats aren't good with dogs"  

Penny, I hope they have cats and cake in Heaven. I miss you so much.

She was an amazing person. She always made me laugh. She will be missed. Much love to you all with this heartbreaking loss. We have another angel looking out for us. 

Penny was the neighborhood mom. Growing up she was always someone that you could go to if you needed something. She was kind and stern when she needed to be guiding us kids in a good direction. Penny never judged, she was always accepting and a beautiful light. She will be missed greatly. 

Penny was the epitome of kindness and compassion. She was strong and resilient and such a good friend. I am so deeply sorry for her passing. Love and prayers for peace to her family she loved so dearly. The world has lost such a precious light.
