Oscar Rudolf Nelson was born on February 9, 1929 to Lilly Viola and Oscar Wilhelm Nelson in Seattle, Washington. He passed away at age 85, on March 29, 2014 in Edmonds, Washington. He graduated from Edmonds High School and served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He married Bernice (LaVigne) on August 22, 1954. For forty years, Oscar worked as a carpenter and enjoyed dirt biking in mountains with family when the kids were growing up, camping, and gardening. Oscar is survived by his beloved wife Bernice Nelson, his daughter JoAnne Wilson (David), his son Stephen Nelson, his brother Arne Nelson (Erna), five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 11am, Floral Hills Funeral Home, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA 98036. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Oscar to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org)
