Nancy was born on February 16, 1932 to Dorothy and Ernest Usab in Cleveland, Ohio. After moving to Wilmington, Delaware, Nancy attended high school and continued her education at Goldey-Beacom Business School.
Nancy began her career in the Edmonds School District in 1962, eventually rising to the position of Head Secretary at College Place Middle School before her retirement in 1989.
Nancy had 4 children with her first husband. In 1978, she met the love of her life through Parents Without Partners. She and her husband Bill were happily married for 37 years.
In retirement, Nancy’s favorite activities included collecting buttons, pins, and playing cards. Her formidable collection of playing cards have been exhibited a number of times. She and Bill especially loved to travel in their RV and had traveled extensively around the country.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her son Erik Stevens. She is survived by her children Pam Mann (Monty), Kathy Vincent (Steve), Geoff Stevens (Elaine), and daughter-in-law Phyllis Stevens. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2 PM at Maplewood Presbyterian Church in Edmonds, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
